Poole Town v BHHFC

'VIEW FROM THE BALCONY'

Here we are again at the end of another season.

Thanks must go to all the people who have made football possible at the Harlequins this year. All the hard work put in by the volunteers of this club can once again be proud of their achievements in providing a superb playing surface combined with superb facilities make this one of the best clubs in the league.

The pitch has now been worked on straight after the sucessful 6-a-sides tournament. Several tonsd of new top soil has been laid and additonal work has been carried out to enhance the already superb palying surface.

It wasn't our year this year but hopefully all the players will stay together and play again next year. They will have yet another year of experience under their young belts and let's hope they can put together an extended run as they did towards the end of the season when they went several games unbeaten.

The only downside to this season was a subject I'm sure all clubs are trying to address and that is discipline. It is possibly a combination of the FA's directives to referees and frustration of the players and managers, but whatever the reason is it must be drastically reduced. We as a club cannot afford the fines laid out by the leagues and it is a shame to see all the hard work put into the club wiped away by poor discipline. Perhaps the FA can move forward with their respect campaign and hold meetings for players to attend where referees and assessors can try to explain what is expected then players might get a better idea of how to deal with decisions made during the game.

End of season get together is this weekend at the club and it should be a good night with a Casino after the presentations.

See you there

Leo
